Crested Butte Ski Resort has been forced to close four chairlifts for the entirety of Wednesday, March 25th, as Mountain Operations and Patrol teams work on essential snow safety work and terrain evaluations.
According to the resort, the warm conditions have forced teams to spend the day focusing on maintaining safe conditions across the resort, leading to the closure of the North Face Lift, High Lift, Paradise Lift, and East River Lift.
Crested Butte hopes to reopen the High Lift, Paradise Lift, and East River Lift as soon as possible, but that won’t happen at least until Thursday, March 26th. Meanwhile the North Face Lift is officially closed for the remainder of the season.
“We’re excited for the final few days of the season and are committed to keeping as much terrain open as possible for your enjoyment.” – Steve Duke, Dir. Mtn Ops
With the closure of those 4, Crested Butte is down to 9 of 15 chairlifts for Wednesday. 55 of 167 trails are currently open to skiers and snowboarders. Paradise Warming House will remain open. Currently Crested Butte is targeting a closing date of Sunday, April 5th.
