Waterville Valley, New Hampshire — One of the biggest 2025 offseason projects for the Northeast’s ski industry occurred at Waterville Valley Resort.
The Exhibition T-Bar, which opened in January, serves several critical trails on the lower mountain. This includes two race trails, one terrain park, and other routes. It also helped Waterville Valley expand its night skiing coverage. Exhibition replaced two surface lifts: the Exhibition Poma and the World Cup T-Bar. It can carry 1,100 people per hour, travel at 500 feet per minute, and has a vertical rise of 602 feet.
In a video shared this past weekend, Waterville Valley detailed the process of constructing the T-Bar. The one challenge for Waterville is that there was previously no lift in that specific area, creating hurdles. From the initial tree clearing to opening day, the process featured various twists and turns.
Waterville’s President & General Manager, Tim Smith, also discussed the process on the Storm Skiing Podcast, which is a good watch/listen if you’re a ski industry geek like myself. Waterville also wrote a comprehensive blog detailing the steps in building a T-Bar, which you can read here.
Waterville Valley remains open and has received 6″ of snowfall over the past 48 hours.
