GRAND COUNTY, Utah — The Grand County Sheriff’s Office are using their social media channels to help identify the vandals the made etchings at an ancient petroglyph site in southeastern Utah.
The rock wall that was vandalized is in the Tusher Tunnel area, just northwest of Moab. The police suspect the culprits are part of a Baja race team:
“It appears a Baja race team may have defaced the site by advertising contact information directly on the rock wall. This type of damage to cultural and historical resources is taken seriously and is under investigation.” -Grand County Sheriff’s Office
Some of the graffiti includes etchings of ATV, 646, and Baja Toys. The Grand County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact the agency. If you have any information please call 435-259-8115.
