Lake Tahoe, California – Tragic news for Tahoe skiers and snowboarders as Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Resort has announced plans to wrap up winter operations this weekend.
According to a post on their social media, the sun has done some serious damage to the resort’s snow base, and near-record high temperatures and no new snow in the forecast make things even worse. As such, Sierra-at-Tahoe is planning for Sunday, March 22nd, to be their final day of operations for the season.
The weekend will feature Grandview Express, Nob Hill, and Easy Rider Express, conditions permitting. Beginner terrain will be limited to Easy Rider. Keep in mind that this might change based on conditions, so make sure to check the daily snow report for updates.
Saturday and Sunday will include a send off party for the 79th season, with snow beach volleyball and DJ après every day. Fingers crossed next winter is full of quite a bit more snow.
