One person is dead after a gondola cabin at Switzerland’s Engelberg ski resort crashed down the mountain during strong winds on Wednesday, March 18th, according to a report from Reuters.

A police spokesperson confirmed that just one person was in the gondola at the time of the accident, sustaining fatal injuries. Neither the exact cause of death nor the identity of the individual have been confirmed.

The incident is currently under investigation by specialists with the Nidwalden cantonal police in cooperation with the Swiss Transportation Safety Investigation Board.
