New England — It appears that we’ve crossed the first critical juncture in New England’s spring ski season. This past weekend saw the closings of various ski areas for the season. This included Blue Hills, Nashoba Valley, Quaggy Jo Ski Center, Quechee Club, Titcomb Mountain, Whaleback Mountain, and Yawgoo Valley. Unfortunately, it seems like more melt is on the way for the mountains that are still open.

After many New England ski areas saw snow this past weekend, rain is expected across the region today. Cold weather is expected later this week, meaning the snowpack will freeze. While snow may come on the back end of this storm, it won’t be enough to replenish the snowpack. Except for Jay Peak (probably).

The following ski resorts are closed today:

Maine

  • Pleasant Mountain
  • Saddleback (also closed on Tuesday)

Massachusetts

  • Berkshire East
  • Bousquet Mountain
  • Catamount
  • Ski Butternut

New Hampshire

  • Bretton Woods
  • Cranmore
  • Cannon Mountain
  • Gunstock Mountain Resort (also closed on Tuesday)
  • King Pine
  • Pats Peak
  • Tenney Mountain (also closed on Tuesday)
  • Waterville Valley Resort (also closed on Tuesday)
  • Wildcat Mountain

Vermont

  • Bromley
