Idaho’s Lookout Pass Ski Resort is currently closed as they work to fix an active power outage as of 10:30am on Thursday, March 12th.
According to the ski area’s social media, the overnight snowfall that brought 10 inches to the slopes turned to rain, causing the power outage.
“Overnight snow switched to rain and we are currently experiencing a power outage. We are working with our provider to get power restored. Check back periodically as we do plan to open if power is restored!” – Lookout Pass.
The most recent update posted at 8am stated that the power was still out, and that a final call will be made as to whether or not the ski area will open on Thursday at approximately 11am.
Several Montana ski areas, including Showdown Montana, Bridger Bowl, Red Lodge Mountain, and Great Divide Ski, are closed today as well due to power outages and/or high winds. None of those four have the potential to reopen until Friday, March 13th.
