Between March 15-22 the first of two stops for the Freeride World Tour Finals will take place in Haines, Alaska. 29 total athletes qualified through The Cut after only two competitions in the early stages of the tour. Battling tough conditions and constantly changing competitions, these athletes are arriving in Alaska eager to throw down.
The Alaska stop returns to the tour for the first time since 2017, demanding long and creative runs from every rider. Alaska consistently provides the necessary snowpack and dramatic lines both fans and athletes are looking for to provide stoke. Affectionately known as “The Dream Stop,” the whole freeride community is hoping Alaska can revive the season.
Haines is a prime location to bring the true spirit of freeride to life, bringing together raw wilderness and drawing out sheer guts from each rider; there’s no telling what might go down. This stop gives every opportunity for athletes to make freeride history. Riders can showcase the whole spectrum of freeride style and creativity with the natural features in Alaska.
While rankings are important to make it past The Cut, each rider has the chance to shake things up in these two final competitions. Be sure to watch the competition live to see the madness go down as these riders push freeride beyond its bounds.
