Tragic news out of Utah where a 19-year-old skier has died after crashing into a tree at Alta Ski Area on Sunday March 8th.
According to Fox13, the victim, a man, was in the “Nina’s” area of Alta when he hit a tree around noon. Alta Ski Patrol responded and attempted lifesaving measures before transporting the man to the base of the ski area.
At the base, a medical helicopter picked up the victim and brought him to a local hospital. Tragically the man ultimately died from his injuries.
The incident is believed to have been accidental and no other skiers were known to be involved. The victim’s identity has not yet been released as officials are working to notify the family.
