WINTER PARK, Colo. — The Fraser Winter Park Police Department are reaching out the public to help to identify a hit-and-run snowboarder who struck and injured an 8-year-old skier at Winter Park Resort on Sunday.
The 8-year-old boy was skiing in the area of Butch’s Breezeway and Gangway at approximately 1:15pm on March 1, 2026 when he stopped on the run and was struck by an unidentified middle-aged male snowboarder. The collision knocked both the boy and the adult snowboarder to the ground. The snowboarder reportedly spoke briefly with the child before leaving the area.
An unidentified witness of the collision came to the aid of the injured child and escorted him to a ski patroller. The child was then taken to East Grand Community Clinic for treatment. The boy suffered a concussion and facial injuries in the collision.
