Ashland, Oregon — Oregon’s ski season is perhaps best demonstrated by the situation at Mt. Ashland Ski Area. Its schedule has been full of openings and closings, resulting in a shortened season.

On Saturday, Mt. Ashland Ski Area announced that it is once again pausing operations. The melting snowpack once again is making operations difficult this season. However, the upper mountain is still skiing well, so another snowstorm could help them reopen.

The other currently closed ski area is Mt. Hood Skibowl. It’s been closed for the past few weeks. However, the snow tubing remains open. In addition, they hope to reopen sometime this month.

There was some good news this weekend, though, for Oregon’s ski industry. Hoodoo Ski Area reopened following a storm that flooded its base area.

In terms of Oregon ski areas that haven’t operated this winter, Cooper Supr has thrown in the towel, and Warner Canyon has yet to open up.
