Bellaire, Michigan — There’s a new prince in Bellaire, as a Michigan ski resort that’s known for more than just its skiing is now under new ownership.

Yesterday, Shanty Creek Resort announced an ownership transition. Currently owned by Trinidad Resort & Club, LLC, it will be sold to Shanty Creek Ski and Golf Resort, LLC. This new Michigan ownership group has extensive experience across sectors related to the resort, including hospitality and food and beverage.

“We are grateful for the 20+ years of stewardship provided by Trinidad Resort & Club, LLC,” said Andrew Reh, COO and General Manager of Shanty Creek Resort. “Their dedication and commitment helped reestablish the resort as a respected destination within the Michigan and Midwest resort industry.”

In terms of future priorities, the new ownership group is aiming to modernize the hotel, design a new website, and add more activities.

The ski resort features 42 trails, 7 lifts, 2 terrain parks, and a vertical drop of 450 feet. There’s also snow tubing and an extensive Nordic ski network, with 25 kms of trails. Golf is also a major focus, with 90 holes across 5 courses. The closest major city is Traverse City, which is 31 miles away.
