Snowboarder collision at Brighton.

Brighton, Utah The following video serves as a great reminder that you need to watch your surroundings.

In a video shared by Isaac (@saint_heir), he showed what initially was a great start to the jump line at Brighton Resort.

Isaac was going on the jump line on the My-O-My trail. After landing his second jump, a blissfully unaware snowboarder was right in front of him. The two collided, with Isaac seemingly being the only one aware that they needed to get out of the way quickly before another skier/rider could land on them.

Whose At Fault?

Typically, the downhill skier has the right of way. But terrain park rules are different. When you are in the park, you need to stay very aware and avoid landing areas. Another key thing to point out about My-O-My: there’s a rope that blocks skiers and riders from entering outside the main entrance. That snowboarder, who appeared to duck a rope to get into the park, was unaware of her surroundings. Isaac was not out of control in the park, as it wasn’t visible to him to see her until he was in the air.

Considering that the snowboarder also ducked under a rope to enter the jump line, it’s clear that she was in the wrong. Carrying a selfie stick doesn’t help her case either. Hopefully, she learned a few things from this situation.

One important thing to note: if you’re involved in a collision like this, please exchange information with the other skier/rider. This can be helpful if you were seriously injured in the incident.
