STATELINE, Nev. — Two men died Friday in separate incidents at Heavenly Mountain Resort, authorities said.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded about 11:55 a.m. to the Boulder Lodge area on the Nevada side of the resort. The deaths are not connected, and the two men were not known to each other, officials said.
Heavenly Ski Patrol transported both men to Boulder Lodge, where life-saving measures were attempted by ski patrol members and paramedics with the Tahoe Douglas Fire Protection District. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
South Lake Tahoe Now reports a resort spokesperson said the first incident involved a 33-year-old man on the intermediate Orion trail. Ski patrol responded and transported him to paramedics at Boulder Lodge, where he was later pronounced dead after emergency treatment and evaluation.

The second death involved a 58-year-old man who experienced a serious medical event on the Tamarack Return trail, the spokesperson said. He also was taken by ski patrol to emergency medical personnel at the base of Boulder Lodge and was pronounced dead after continued treatment.
The causes and manners of death are pending. Authorities said the names of the men will be released after next of kin are notified.
