Olympic husky crashes race

TESERO, Italy — Somebody’s husky got loose during a qualifying event for the women’s team sprint cross-country race and ended up crossing the finish line alongside a couple of athletes. The dog wandered onto the stadium course in Tesero and gave chase to a pair of racers as the crowd roared with approval.

Some racers were not entertained by the intrusion but race winner Jonna Sundling from Sweden didn’t mind:

“It was so fun. I like dogs, we have a dog at home,” -Jonna Sundling

Olympic officials eventually wrangled interloper but not before timekeepers preparing for a photo-finish in the race captured an image of the dog crossing the line.
