California road conditions.

The mountains of California have already seen some serious snow this week, with several feet already falling at some ski resorts since the storm began Monday. It may be incredibly tempting to hightail it up to the mountains and catch some sweet pow, but know that the roads are incredibly hazardous and travel is highly recommended against unless absolutely necessary.

This footage was captured Monday evening along Interstate 80 with far more people on the road than probably should have been. I-80 westbound was eventually closed on Tuesday and the highway was closed in both directions for semi-trucks.

If you don’t have to drive through these winter conditions, don’t drive. Stay home, wait until the roads are safe, and check the California Department of Transportation website for the most current road conditions.
