Consistent and heavy snow has forced Alta Ski Resort in Utah to close 2 hours earlier than their normal 4:30 closing time today:

“Due to the heavy snowfall rates, Alta will close today (Wednesday the 18th) at 2:30pm. Thank you for your patience while our teams work through this storm event that has delivered 41 inches and counting.” –Alta Ski Resort

Alta has gotten 31 inches of snow in the last 24 hours and 25 inches in the last 12 hours. No official news on their operational plan for tomorrow, so you are planning on skiing at Alta make sure to confirm they will be spinning lifts before you head out the door.
