Hermon, Maine — Last fall, many around the Bangor area were worried about the future of New Hermon Mountain.
Before the start of the 2025-26 season, the owners of New Hermon Mountain said they couldn’t find a buyer, and it could be the ski area’s final season. The ski area has been on the market since 2023, but no suitors have been reported. After an interested party attempted to finance the deal but failed, a new group of locals stepped up to try to purchase it.
New Hermon Mountain announced that work continues toward finalizing the deal. The new ownership group aims to expand the food and drink offerings, host more events on the property, and add outdoor activities such as disc golf.
Ultimately, it does show that the new owners plan to expand offerings at the ski area to make it a destination for all four seasons.
New Hermon Mountain remains open with all of its trails available for shredding. There’s also snow tubing available for guests.
