Slinger, Wisconsin — A small Wisconsin ski area plans a major investment this upcoming summer.
Last week, Little Switzerland officially announced the replacement of two of its chairlifts. Lift 1-2 is an interesting over-and-out chairlift. There are base terminals on both the front and back sides that take people up from the two terrain pods. At the top, there are unloading terminals for both sides. Both chairlifts are fixed-grip doubles.
The plan is to replace this with a new over-and-out system. The $4 million fixed-grip quad chairlifts will increase capacity, leading to shorter lift lines. The new lifts will be manufactured by SkyTrac. Work on the project is expected to begin in March, with the goal of having it ready for the 2026-27 season.
