NFL Super Bowl Champion Jason Kelce may be retired from football, but that doesn’t mean he’s necessarily retired from sports. He met up with the USA Bobsled Team to try out the sport, going through a full combine with a 30-meter sprint, vertical jump, and broad jump before learning to push and slide.
Kelce is nowhere near the first football player to try out bobsledding. Herschel Walker competed in bobsled at the 1992 Winter Olympics, and gold medal winning bobsledder Curt Thomas played fullback and middle linebacker for the Nebraska Cornhuskers when he was in college.
Just by being a top athlete, Kelce was going into bobsledding with an advantage that most don’t have. That said, he does seem to do pretty well given that it’s hist first time, being able to load with a four-man team in just an hour.
