Colorado news anchors try snowboarding.

Local Colorado news station 9NEWS sent anchor Drew Carney and meteorologist Jaden Knowles out to the Ruby Hill Rail Yard in Denver to learn to snowboard, guided by former Olympic ski jumper and Ruby Hill Rail Yard founder Bob Holme.

Jaden had apparently never snowboarded before, something we certainly can’t fault him for given that he only joined the 9NEWS team back in May 2025 after working in Texas for several years. Drew has snowboarded, but it’s been over 2 decades since he’s strapped onto a plank. Drew joined 9NEWS this January after working in Portland, Oregon, for 19 years.

Huge shoutout to both of these guys for getting out there and trying snowboarding. Plus major props to them for covering such a cool local ski/snowboard area. Skiers and snowboarders are welcome to hit the rails for free and Ruby Hill, with features for beginners to experts on the slope.
