You may be familiar with Ariel Helwani work as a journalist covering all thing MMA but it looks like his horizons have recently expanded as the 43-year-old Montreal, Canada born broadcaster is in Italy covering the Olympics for the CBC. Not sure how he got clearance but the CBC actually sent Helwani down the Livigno Snow Park halfpipe on his skis and suffice it to say he did not end up in medal contention:

“I did it for my country.” -Ariel Helwani

In comparison, Shaun White, who is also working the broadcast booth for the Winter Olympic Games Milano Cortina 2026, took a stab at the halfpipe and had a bit more success.

Obviously if it came down to a broadcaster vs broadcaster competition, USA would reign supreme over Candad. Cheers to Ariel for dropping in and doing his best to keep it together.
