The weather has been pretty wild in France in the last few days. The snow has come down so hard, in fact, that some ski resorts have been forced to close because of the high avalanche danger.
In Val d’Isère, the last snowfall brought around 21 inches of snow to 6,070 feet and over 24 inches of snow to 9,842 feet. The avalanche danger at Val d’Isère is currently at a 5 out of 5 across the resort. You don’t need to look the stats to know that the weather was wild on February 12th, though, as videos seem to the storm plenty of justice.
Despite the wild weather, it does appear that Val d’Isère was open on February 12th. Today might not have been the best day of skiing up there, but the next several days will certainly be epic.
