It’s well known that former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe is a big fan of skiing. He frequently shared pictures and videos of his days at Mt. Bachelor and his epic ski trips, and he’s certainly no beginner. This guy truly knows what he’s doing. Back when he was a young QB, though, Bledsoe made a few mistakes with his love for skiing.
In a recent BLISTER Podcast, Bledsoe talked about how he made the mistake of telling new Patriots owner Robert Kraft, who signed the quarterback’s contracts, about a recent helicopter skiing trip he took with his father. Kraft didn’t react in the moment, but Bledsoe’s next contract had quite a bit of language discussing how much money he’d own the team if he wound up injured on the slopes.
For many people, language like that would get them to put their skis away until retirement, but Bledsoe is a true skier and he kept at it, working out ways to protect himself and his salary if he wound up hurt. Fortunately he never missed a game due to ski injuries, as far as we know, and he’s still shredding today. You can listen to the full podcast episode here.
