Lindsey Vonn training run.

American skiing icon Lindsey Vonn ruptured her ACL and suffered bone bruising in a brutal crash at the Crans-Montana World Cup on Friday, January 30th. She was taken off-course by helicopter to a nearby hospital for further evaluation, and for several days the prospect of her competing in the Olympics sat in a state of uncertainty.

On Tuesday, February 3rd, Vonn announced that she still intended to compete in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics despite the torn ACL. Her first medal event, the Women’s Downhill, is scheduled for Sunday, February 8th. In the meantime, the 41-year-old ski racer will be testing out her knee in training runs.

Earlier this morning, just one week after her crash in Switzerland, Vonn completed a training run on the Cortina downhill course, looking great the whole way down.

The Women’s Downhill medal event is set to begin at 5:30am EST (11:30 AM CET). At today’s training run, Vonn was joined by several other Team USA members including Mary Bocock, Keely Cashman, Isabella Wright, Breezy Johnson, and Jacqueline Wiles. Wiles finished the training run with the fastest time on the course, while Breezy Johnson took the 6th fastest time and Vonn took the 11th fastest.
