Sometimes the skier versus snowboarder rivalry is deliberate, sometimes it’s just a result of inexperienced recreators. This incident was captured on camera at Mount Erciyes in Kayseri, Turkey, filmed by the snowboard instructor.
The beginner snowboarder and instructor were moving with plenty of consistency (not that their movements could be an excuse for the uphill skier), and yet this skier still managed to wipe into them at full speed. It’s pretty clear who’s at fault.
Remember, the downhill skier/snowboarder always has the right of way. In this case, the skier clearly let themselves get out of control while on the slopes and probably should have been in a lesson, rather than just skiing on their own.
Fortunately nobody was injured, but the snowboard instructor’s boot was apparently sliced open by the crashing person’s ski. It’s certainly a good thing that was the worst that happened.
