Dog rescued from icy water in St. Louis.

During frigid, single-digit temperatures in St. Louis, Missouri, a dog wandered out onto the ice of O’Fallon Park Lake before breaking through the ice and winding up trapped in the ice-cold water.

The St. Louise Fire Department Marine Rescue Task Force received the call within moments of the dog breaking through the ice, immediately going to work. The dog was unable to swim to safety and the freezing temperatures were quickly taking a toll. Crews launched, navigated the frozen conditions, and managed to reach the dog.

The animal was pulled from the frigid water before being brought to safety. Fortunately they had reached the dog just in time, and its now doing well and is expected to make a full recovery.

Huge shoutout to the St. Louis Fire Department crew for getting out there in the cold weather to rescue this pup.
