Park City, Utah — While it’s been a low-snow year in Utah, Deer Valley is slowly progressing towards opening all of its new lifts. Before this past weekend, Deer Valley had opened the East Village Gondola and Pinyon Express. Two more chairlifts made their debut on Saturday.
On Saturday, Deer Valley opened the Vulcan Express and Revelator Express chairlifts. This is despite the very below-average snowpack Utah has faced so far. For more information, check out the video below and a written explainer of the expansion.
Revelator & Vulcan
Originally, Deer Valley intended to have these be one continuous lift. However, due to the differences in terrain, in order to improve lapability, they went with two separate chairlifts. I’ll have to ski it to form a true opinion, but I feel like splitting these into two is the right decision. Just one run in this area looks like a true thigh burner.
The Vulcan Express is a high-speed quad that services beginner, intermediate, and advanced terrain. However, it caters mostly to intermediate skiers looking for mellow laps.

The Revelator Express is a high-speed quad that serves the steepest terrain in the expansion (until South Peak eventually opens). This takes skiers up to near the summit of Park Peak. It also services Redemption, which may now be Deer Valley Resort’s signature run. If you want to ski all of Redemption, it’ll take you back down to the base of the Vulcan Express. On powder days, advanced and expert skiers will love Cataract, Deep Enuf, and Hellcat.
If Deer Valley is able to get 100% open this winter, they will have added 100 trails and 10 lifts since the 2024-25 season. The final new lifts yet to open are the Galena Express, Neptune Express, and Pioche Express. The Hail Peak terrain pod and high-speed quad will debut during the 2026-27 season, and South Peak is planned as a future expansion.
