Skiing in Toronto
Skiing in Toronto

Canada has many notable ski destinations whether you’re looking at places like Mont-Tremblant in Quebec, Sunshine Village in Alberta or Whistler in BC. However the mountains of Ontario go largely under the radar and it’s biggest city is an absolute afterthought for skiers besides for those heading to Pearson with their ski bag. That is unless you are a street skier who loves searching out manmade concrete and metal features that come to life after a fresh coat of the white stuff.

The following film was captured over week in Toronto during a major winter snowstorm. It features professional skier and proud Torontonian, Evan McEachran, who was well acquainted with the lay of the land and X Games gold medalist Tom Wallisch who was keen to explore the Canadian metropolis.

“This short trip was all about capturing the experience in new ways and experimenting. Unique features, weird angles and a custom score created from the sounds of the city and street skiing itself.”

If you are live in Toronto, you will no doubt recognize some of these zones and hopefully gain a new appreciation for what your urban landscape can offer to skier with the right set of skills.
