Cheers to mountaineer Ryan Mitchell who got a nice little publicity bump and a cash prize from GoPro for the following video documenting his push from Everest Camp 4 to the top of the world.
Alongside Garret Madison and his Sherpa team, Mitchell clipped into fixed ropes, weaved past other climbers and moved deliberately through the death zone. Using supplemental oxygen, he slowly and steadily made his way up steep ice, exposed ridge lines, and bottleneck sections where patience and precision as much of a factor as strength.
Mitchell reached the summit (29,032 feet) where he celebrated the moment of triumph with his fellow mountaineers who conquered the ultimate test of endurance, altitude, and resolve.
