Olympic Valley, California — In terms of bucket list items for skiers and riders, being first chair on the Mothership is near the top of the list. Why’s that? The legit setup for steeps and cliffs is a dream for any advanced or expert skier or rider. Add in the fact that you get views of hardcore skiers sending it while you’re riding up the chairlift, and it’s an incredible experience. That lift line can be a bit big on a powder day, though.

The Gaffney family has been showing their skills in this terrain pod for decades. Last week, Noah Gaffney showed how it’s done. Last week saw Palisades Tahoe in feast mode, with lots of new snow in the KT-22 terrain pod. Noah was among the first to get the goods and proceeded to send it off The Fingers.

It sounds like Palisade Tahoe is returning to famine mode, with no major snow expected over the next week or so. On the bright side, most of the terrain there is now open.
