Helicopter pilot leads successful rescue despite high winds.

Shoutout to the helicopter pilot who managed to battle high winds to rescue a hiker who had suffered a significant fall at Black Star Falls in Orange County, California.

According to the Orange County Fire Authority, the highly skilled pilot managed to maneuver a new FIREHAWK helicopter to lower two medics into position, maintaining a steady hover and safely hoisting both the medic and patient to safety, all despite the extreme wind conditions.

From there, the crew provided lifesaving medical for the patient who was in critical condition as they were being transported to a nearby trauma center. These winds probably could have warranted the pilot to cancel the flight out of caution, but this guy managed to pull it off. Impressive stuff.
