Park City, Utah โ€” The future is now at Deer Valley Resort.

It’s been a slow start to the season at Deer Valley Resort due to Utah’s drought. However, the tides turned this past weekend, with 10″ of snow coming through. This extra white stuff was enough to allow Deer Valley to open terrain off Park Peak on Saturday.

This included the openings of the new East Village Gondola and Pinyon Express lifts. The East Village Gondola features 10-person cabins and a mid-station. The Pinyon Express is a bubble chairlift. Both lifts were made by Doppelmayr.

Skiable terrain isn’t yet accessible down to the base, so if you park at East Village, you have to take the gondola all the way up to Park Peak. To get back to the new base area, you download via the top terminal of the East Village Gondola.

This past offseason, Deer Valley conducted the largest terrain expansion in North American ski history. The ski resort added nearly 80 trails and 7 lifts to its network. This is on top of the 19 trails, one trail extension, and three lifts that opened during the 2024-25 season.

For now, the only portion of the new expansion that’s accessible is the easy and intermediate terrain off Park Peak. However, thanks to the new snowmaking network that’s a part of this expansion, more terrain could be added in the weeks ahead.
