Telluride, Colorado โ It appears as though Telluride Ski Resort is heading for a shutdown.
Today, the Telluride Professional Ski Patrol Association issued a statement regarding recent negotiations. They described the ski resort’s “last, best final offer (L.B.F.O.)” as a non-starter. The union came back with a “supposal” to try and reach a compromise. However, the ski resort came back with the same offer (L.B.F.O.). The union also stated that it was not their decision to close the mountain, and blamed ownership and management for not having a backup plan.
In response to the strike, Telluride Ski Resort will be completely shut down starting on December 27th. The Colorado ski resort has yet to establish a timeline for reopening.
The statement places blame on Chuck Horning, the owner of the ski resort, who has been under fire for a good portion of this year. It also faults Steve Swenson, who’s the manager of the ski resort.
Telluride Ski Resort’s last offer is similar to those of other ski resorts in the region. You can read Telluride Ski Resort’s side of the story here.
