What makes a ski resort good? Personal opinion certainly differs, and sometimes nostalgia for where you grew up or where you know the most people can have an impact on your thought process, but if you’re trying to approach it from a completely unbiased position there are several factors that need to be considered. SRG Skiing broke down the six most important factors that determine whether a ski resort is good and took a look at three less considered factors that are still very important.
As they point out in the video, there are 6 main factors that most people consider. Snow quality and quantity, crowds, terrain, size, accessibility, and facilities. The three overlooked factors include mountain aesthetic, lift systems, and navigation.
It’s important to note that a lot of these are personal. Some people might prefer more mellow terrain or a resort with a more vintage feel, while others desire the big aprรจs scene and party culture around the village. You might love deep powder while another person prefers perfect groomers or huge parks. Work with your group, figure out what you’re looking for out of a resort, and book a fantastic ski trip.
