The Telluride Professional Ski Patrol Association (TPSPA) and Telluride Ski and Golf (Telski) met twice over the weekend and will reconvene today at 5pm according to The Telluride Times. Details are sparse on what was discussed but it is a positive sign that the two parties are in ongoing negotiations after hints at a ski patrol strike swirled last week. TPSPA uses Instagram to provide updates, here is the latest from them:

“We know we’ve been quiet for a bit on this platform. That’s because we’ve been hard at work both on the mountain and at the bargaining table. We’re working in our upper terrain doing mitigation, and getting our rescue equipment and boundaries in place. We are actively engaged in negotiations with the company and hope to see continued movement to a middle ground. Stay tuned.

We are working hard to both reach a compromise with the company and prepare more terrain for opening when directed. We have made, and continue to make movement towards the middle ground and hope to see the same from the company in relation to their “last best and final” offer. We have been at the table and will return there tonight to attempt to reach a resolution in a way that benefits both parties and the community. We do not believe the gap in proposals is very large. Thank you for your support and stay tuned.” -Telluride Professional Ski Patrol Association (TPSPA)

Both parties came away dissatisfied from the weekend meetings according to The Telluride Times but that that is often the case when it comes contract negotiations. This is a developing story and we will be sure to update when more information becomes available.
