A man wanted for an armed robbery warrant out of Texas was arrested while snowboarding at Steamboat Resort last week, with the Steamboat Springs Police Department apprehending the suspect at the base of the resort.

The US Marshal Service notified the Steamboat Springs Police Department (SSPD) that Isaac Van Marcantel was believed to be in the area of the Steamboat Ski Resort. He was wanted for an armed robbery warrant out of Texas. The US Marshal believed Van Marcantel was armed with a firearm.

SSPD officers worked with the Routt County Sheriff’s Office, US Marshals Service, nad Steamboat Resort security to locate and apprehend the man at the base area of the resort. He was apprehended without incident and had been snowboarding when he was located.

Van Marcantel was taken into custody and brought to the Routt County Jail pending extradition proceedings. All individuals accused of any crime are presumed innocent until and unless their guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt in court.
