Heads up Jackson Hole area families (or visitors), Jackson Hole Mountain Resort is offering a incredible look-behind-the-scenes opportunities for the kids, providing a hands-on experience with some of the coolest operations.

This Saturday, December 20th, Jackson Hole will be hosting the Snow Cats and Avalanche Dogs event at the Kids Ranch from 4:30pm-5:30pm. The kids will be able to meet avalanche dogs and handlers and take a tour of a snow cat, combing two awesome sides of ski resort operations.

Snow Cats and Avalanche Dogs is just one of many top-notch activities planned for this weekend as a part of Jackson Hole’s WinterFest. The weekend kicks off on Friday with the Tree Lighting, GlowNights, Snow Castles and One Wild Ride between 4pm and 6pm at the Village Commons. You can check out the full weekend schedule here.

Jackson Hole currently has 5 of 13 lifts spinning and 30 of 130 trails open. In the last 24 hours the resort has seen 2 inches of new snowfall, but they’ve gotten 106 inches at the summit so far this year.
