If you were at Snowbird yesterday you may have noticed it was tad bit breezy, well maybe more than a tad because the iconic Utah ski resort recorded 120 mph max wind gusts at Hidden Peak.
For reference, this is what 120 mph looks like from Mount Washington in New Hampshire:
Snowbird wasn’t the only resort to experience some serious wind as Snowbasin saw 94 mph gusts at Strawberry but The Bird took the cake, Snowbird’s winds were the equivalent of category 3 hurricane-force.

Winds have died down but it’ll still be a pretty gusty day at Snowbird. Be prepared, dress appropriately and have fun!
Snowbird Conditions Report 12/18/2025:
Oh we are so back. Yesterday, we got 2” of snow and the snow guns have been blowing all night. On top of that, we could pick up another inch throughout the day. We’ll have a high of around 35°, but it’ll likely be windy again today, so it’s going to feel colder than that. If that doesn’t have you frothing yet, we’re going to keep getting snow tommorrow and over the weekend (oh we are so back). Skiing is so fun you guys. You know what isn’t fun? Work. So don’t go to work, come skiing instead. It’s getting good up at The Bird, don’t miss out.
