With the rising prices of lift tickets across the country leaving some of the skiingpublic questioning if its even worth going anymore, Vail Resorts just announced a new offering aimed to alleviate some of the sticker shock for those who plan ahead.
This morning Vail Resorts unveiled a new discount averaging over 30% off lift tickets at 12 of its top destination resorts for guests who purchase four or more weeks in advance.
“Up until this season, there were two ways to save on lift access at our mountain resorts โ you could either purchase anย Epic Passย orย Epic Day Passย pre-season for a huge value, or save a smaller amount on lift tickets by purchasing online at least seven days in advance โ our goal is to fill that gap. While we will always give the best deal to our Pass Holders, with this new discount, our hope is to make the sport more accessible for guests who aren’t thinking about skiing and snowboarding until winter arrives.” -Vail Resortsย CEOย Rob Katz

The new lift ticket discount will be available for skiers atย Vail Mountain,ย Beaver Creek,ย Breckenridge,ย Keystone,ย Crested Butte,ย Park City Mountain,ย Whistler Blackcomb, Heavenly,ย Northstar, Stowe, Okemo andย Mount Snowย during the 2025/26 season.ย
Lift tickets are available for purchase now on allย Vail Resorts’ย 37 North American resorts websites (lift ticket prices vary by resort and peak period). Savings can add up to over $100 per lift ticket in some cases. The first eligible day to cash in on the offer is January 5, 2026.
Vail Resorts also added a bit of info on how people access their resorts in the press release with only 2% walking up to the ticket booth and paying out of pocket and an overwhelming 75% coming from various forms of the Epic Pass:
“Nearly 75% ofย Vail Resortsย visitation comes from skiers and riders with a season-longย Epic Passย orย Epic Day Passย purchased ahead of the winter season, and the remaining ~25% of visitation is from guests who purchase a lift ticket.ย Less than 2% of visitation comes from guests who purchased their skiing at the ticket window.”
Remember folks, if you know you want to ski at a Vail Resorts property well ahead of time, you can get a pretty hefty discount if you pre-purchase. Read more about the offer here.
