Truckee, California โ€” A Tahoe ski resort is set to begin its 2025-26 season with a new base lodge.

Last month, Tahoe Donner shared a first look at its new lodge, which will debut this winter. It’s replacing the original lodge that opened back in 1971.

The exterior of the lodge includes a new loading/unloading zone, a staircase for easy access to and from the mountain, and a larger sun deck that’s right next to the lifts.

The interior of the new lodge features a main entrance space with check-in counters, a new dining area with a menu and full bar service, modern restrooms, elevators, a staircase, a rental room, a retail shop, and a ski school. Compared to the prior lodge, there will be much improved guest flow and more seats to pop a squat.

The ski resort and new lodge are scheduled to open on December 19th. However, given the lack of snow at the start of the season at other Tahoe ski resorts, we’ll see if its opening date is affected.

About Tahoe Donner

Tahoe Donner is a vast community homeowners’ association in Truckee. With around 25,000 members across over 7,300 acres, it’s one of the largest homeowner’s associations in the country. With all this land, there’s a lot of room for activities, including a beach club marina, equestrian center, golf course, racquetball center, and an XC ski center.

As part of this community, there’s also a modestly sized ski resort. The Tahoe Donner ski resort features 17 trails, 2 terrain parks, 5 lifts, and a 600-foot vertical drop. While it doesn’t have the gnarliest terrain in Tahoe, it’s well regarded as a family-friendly mountain.
