Parts of North America have been having a pretty rough start to the 2025/2026 ski season, with resorts across the west delaying their opening days by several weeks. Europe, on the other hand, is enjoying a rather successful start to winter so far, as the ChamonixSkiBum explained in his first Alps ski conditions roundup.

Based on his explanation, late November was impressively snowy across the Alps, with the northwest region (specifically Savoie in France and Valais in Switzerland) seeing the most. Some areas, like Avoriaz, Flaine, and the Mont Blanc range, saw their snowiest late-November in nearly 30 years, with base depths reaching 1.5–2 meters.

It looks like the weather might be changing a bit for the region, with temperatures rising and not much snow in the forecast. That said, there ins’t any major rain expected in the near future, so existing bases should hold strong. It’s looking like this could be a good year to head to Europe!
