Bohemia adds more terrain, as always

Mount Bohemia is known for its massive glade network that showcases its consistent snowfall and it just got bigger. The four new glade runs are spread out throughout the 9 named sections of Bohemia. The biggest glade addition is in the Bear Den. Bohemia trail crew leader Joey Wolford labeled new glade Gobi Bear as the best new glade since Grizzly was added in 2015. This new glade starts between Polar Bear and Black Bear in Mount Bohemia’s scenic Bear Den section. Gobi Bear is a widely spaced out glade run with an excellent rhythm, not too steep not too flat. As it winds it way through the woods it eventually drops the skiers onto Polar Bear. However those looking for more of an adrenaline rush, just keep left and at the end of Gobi Bear you will enter the Hot Honey Chutes located to the left of the famed Forbidden Cliffs. These new steep chutes will be the place to go first on a powder day.

New Glade Runs in Pink

The next new glade is over in Pirates Cove. This new run called Toucan parallels between Parrot and Pica Pau. It rolls gently through the woods giving newcomers to glade skiing a perfect place to learn the rhythm in the woods. With favorable snow loading, low angle and excellent protection from the sun, skiers can expect Toucan to be among the first runs to open each year and among the last to close.

Moving eastward on the mountain we come to the next new glade. This glade run can be seen from the triple chairlift and is located between Powder Keg and Copper Plunge. This nicely pitched glade will be for those who want to be seen and for those who want a direct line to the chairlift as this glade drops you off at the bottom of Copper Plunge on your way to the Triple chair.

The last of the new glades is Gummy Bear located near the bottom of the woods where the Bear Den and Outer Limits runs meet. Gummy Bear is a short twisting glade run most accessible from Papa Bear and Momma Bear glades. This glade brings you to the road where you get the bus to then bring you back to the front for a drop off.

Après Ski Options Just Got Even Better

On to the Nordic Spa where a beautiful new 43 person hot springs mineral pool is now open. This hot springs mineral pool is heated to the same temperature as Bohemia’s hot tub. All Bohemia season passholders get a year long access to the Nordic spa as well.

Nordic Spa’s new 43 person mineral pool

Right beside and up the stairs from the New Mineral pool is the new tiki bar. Named Boho’s Tiki Room this new bar overlooks the ski slopes of Bohemia and the pools of the Nordic Spa. Yes it is weird to have a Tiki bar at a ski resort but Bohemia is weird in a really fun way. The new tiki bar promises more of the same with Polynesian drinks, tiki lights, tropical décor, and shrimp tacos to snack on. Boho’s Tiki Room will be open daily from 12 noon to 12 am, serving both skiers and Nordic spa guests.

One more flight of stairs up from the tiki bar is Bohemia’s new rooftop bar the Beach Club. The Beach Club will be an open air rooftop bar with the best view of the ski slopes day or night. This new rooftop bar will be the place to be in the spring to layout and soak up the warm sun from its nice southwest exposure.

Less interesting but helpful, Bohemia has added an additional parking lot to help on busy days. Bohemia continues to grow but its special vibe of adventure and escape only gets better this year with new bars, another pool, and new ski terrain.
