Many of Colorado’s iconic ski resorts saw some serious snowfall yesterday evening, marking one of the first real snowstorms to hit the state this winter. While all of these resorts had already seen a few inches here and there, yesterday’s storm felt like the first true powder dump. These open ski resorts saw the most snow throughout the past 24 hours.
1. Snowmass – 12 inches of New Snowfall

Snowmass saw a healthy foot of new snow in the past 24 hours, bringing their base depth up to a nice 19 inches. Unfortunately just 1 trail is currently open on the mountain, but hopefully a few more will open up with this new snow.
(For the sake of including more ski resorts, this is the only Aspen Snowmass mountain on the list. Aspen saw 7 inches of snow in the past 24 hours, while Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk, both still closed until December 13th, saw slightly more.)
2. Wolf Creek – 10 inches

Wolf Creek, which generally sees the most snow in Colorado throughout an entire season, received 10 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours. That brings their season total up to 43 inches, or slightly more than 3.5 feet. 10 chairlifts are currently open with 80% of trails available for skiing and snowboarding.
3. Beaver Creek – 8 inches of New Snowfall

Beaver Creek, who just opened yesterday on November 31st, saw 8 inches of new snow in the past 24 hours, making for quite the opening week. The resort has seen 17 inches of snow so far this season, with a base depth of 18 inches (shoutout to the all the snowmaking teams out there). Just two trails are open, but that’s two more than there were on Saturday.
4. Crested Butte Mountain Resort – 7 inches

Crested Butte’s last 24 hours brought 7 inches of new snowfall to the mountain, bringing their season total up to 16 inches and base depth to 18″. 5 trails are currently open on the mountain, including 3 on the frontside and 2 in the learning area. They are all rated as green runs.
Honorable Mentions
Steamboat and Winter Park both recorded 6 inches of new snowfall in the last 24 hours, while Monarch Mountain, which is set to open tomorrow, December 2nd, saw 7 inches. Powderhorn Mountain Resort, whose opening date is still yet to be revealed, states 10 inches of new snow in the last 24 hours. It’s nice to finally see some proper snow in Colorado!
