Killington, Vermont — Killington’s new signature chairlift will debut this weekend.
Yesterday, Killington Resort announced that the new Superstar chairlift will debut on Saturday, November 29th at 9 a.m. The opening will be full of festivities, which include a Bubly toast, giveaways, and a ribbon-cutting. A Superstar-themed pair of skis are also being awarded to a random person who goes on the Superstar trail and tracks it on the Killington app.
This past offseason, Killington’s old Superstar Express was replaced with a detachable high-speed six-pack chairlift. This is Killington’s first-ever Doppelmayr chairlift. Some of its neat features include its own diesel-powered generator, and a barn next to the top terminal that will store chairs that need to be repaired. The unloading area has also been regraded, which will lead to less skating when guests depart from the chairs.
“The completion of the new Superstar lift is a testament to the backing of our independent ownership and the work of our dedicated Mountain Ops staff,” said Mike Solimano, President & CEO of Killington Resort & Pico Mountain. “We’re thrilled to get this lift and terrain open ahead of schedule, and we’re looking forward to continuing to invest heavily in our guest experience.”
Other upgrades at Killington for the 2025-26 season include the completion of the two-year snowmaking gun project, new cabins for the Skyeship gondola, a reconstructed barn for those carriers, a new Ledgewood Yurt, and more. The 2026-27 ski season will see the debut of a larger Jamaican Jerk Grill at the Needles Eye base, and the replacement of the Snowdon triple with a new fixed-grip quad chairlift.
