The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA) is forecasting winter-like weather across large portions of the United States for late November and early December.

According to the latest Key message from the NOAA Climate Prediction Center, the upcoming atmospheric pattern support a setup likely to bring winter-like weather across the country. Below normal temperatures are favored for the Northern and Central U.S., with cold stretching to the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic coasts. The pattern is anticipated to be the most widespread between November 27th and December 1st, though it may start as early as November 25th.
Milder temperatures expected to stay over the West during the November 27th-December 1st period are expected to transition to below normal in early December. while milder, above-normal temperatures are forecast to spread across Southeast and up the Eastern Seaboard in the same period.

Between November 29th and December 1st, a moderate risk of heavy snow does exist for the Central Rockies, the Upper Great Lakes, and the Interior Northeast. Broader slight risks of snow cover a significant portion of the Rockies between November 29th and December 5th, while the Northern Tier corridor from the North Central U.S. to Northern New England could see some snow between November 29th and December 2nd.
