A 27-year-old snowboarder was transported to the Keystone Medical Center facility after falling off the Montezuma Express Chairlift at Keystone Resort on Thursday, November 13th, Summit Daily reports.

In addition to a response form the Keystone Ski Patrol, deputies with the Summit County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene that occurred around 1:30pm. Lt. Mike Schilling said that the snowboarder’s injuries aren’t currently suspected to be live threatening.

Sheriff’s deputies reportedly respond to falls from chairlifts at ski resort out of an abundance of caution, but the responsibility for investigating the incident is moved to the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board once they confirm the situation is non life-threatening.

Public information officer for the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board Lee Rasizer wrote in an email to Summit Daily that the resort’s investigation of the incident is still ongoing and the board is waiting for more information.
