The wait nearly over for all you Killington skiers and snowboarders as the Vermont ski resort just announced they are kicking off the 2025/26 winter season with a record number of trails this Wednesday, November 12th at 9:00 a.m. Heads up, Wednesday will be reserved exclusively for Killington, Beast365 and Ikon Pass Holders and the mountain will open to the general public the following day.
“We’re proud to kick off our second year of independent ownership with the most opening day terrain in recent history thanks to beastly work from our team.” -Killington
Killington advises that early season conditions exist, and skiing and snowboarding will be on advanced terrain only. Beginner terrain is not available at this time. Here is quick rundown of the lifts that are spinning and terrain available:
“The K-1 Express Gondola and North Ridge Quad will offer access to Great Northern, Downdraft Headwall, Rime, Reason, and Upper East Fall, with ski and ride access down to North Ridge via Upper Great Northern. Walking will be required on the Peak Walkway to exit skiable terrain and download the K-1 Gondola. Both lifts will operate daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (weather permitting) The last load on the K-1 Gondola will be at 3:30 p.m., with the final run to North Ridge at 3:45 p.m. while we await top-to-bottom skiing and riding. Conditions are shaping up fast though, so it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting long before we’re linking turns all the way to the base. Once top-to-bottom skiing begins, lift hours will shift to 8:00 a.m. on weekends and 9:00 a.m. on weekdays. “

Snowmaking crews at Killington are already scoping out terrain expansion with continued snowmaking in the North Ridge area, including Upper Double Dipper and Great Northern to Lower Ridge Run.  Snowmaking temps are returning this evening and they expect to turn the guns back on when the mercury drops.
“This upcoming snowmaking window will allow us to make a push on terrain down towards the base with hopes for top-to-bottom skiing and riding later this week.” Â
The Killington Parks Crew will have a few early-season features set up for the first day of the season and many more as the season ramps up. In celebration of kicking off the ski season Killington & Pico are donating $10,000 to BROC Community Action to help expand local food-assistance programs serving families across Rutland County.Â
As bonus little perk for passholders, Killington is upholding their long-standing tradition of inviting folks to enjoy a complimentary lunch on November 12th. Cheers to Killington, we wish them another amazing ski season!
