It might seem a bit earlier to be thinking of Christmas, but we’re less than 2 months away from one of the biggest holidays of the year. If you’re like most people, you’re probably hoping for a little snow on Christmas day. The Old Farmer’s Almanac just released their 2025 Christmas Forecast, providing what they believe Christmas Week will look like across the United States.
Old Farmer’s Almanac Christmas Forecast

According to the Old Farmer’s Almanac forecast, the Northeast is in for a cold and snowy Christmas week, potentially bringing that well-loved White Christmas to New England and nearby. The forecast expects the Atlantic Corridor to remain cold, but with more sun and less snow. The Appalachians, meanwhile, are expected to start the week on the mild side before turning toward very cold.
The Southeast can expect a milder week, while Florida will be colder than normal and the Deep South will start milder and turn chilly. The Lower Lakes region can expect cold to very cold temperatures with snowy periods throughout the week, while the Ohio Valley will be chilly with snow in the east. The Upper Midwest, on the other hand, will start rather mild before turning very cold, with snow showers scattering the area.
In the Heartland, Christmas Week will be mild and sunny, while Texas-Oklahoma will be warm and the High Plains will be quite warm. The Old Farmer’s Almanac states that the Intermountain region and Desert Southwest will see temperatures that remain warm with a few rain and snow showers throughout the week. The Pacific Northwest will start mild then turn warm, while the Pacific Southwest will start with a warm south before turning mild throughout.
The Old Farmer’s Almanac anticipates that Alaska will start the week very cold, with snowstorms along the panhandle and flurries elsewhere, before conditions turn mild. On the opposite side of the spectrum, they expect Hawaii to have a warm and sunny week.
