Early season Adirondack ice road skiing
Early season Adirondack ice road skiing

It might not be pretty but this definitely counts as the beginning of the ski season in the Empire State. A recent cold snap in the Adirondacks dusted the mountain tops and made for some pretty slick driving conditions and this skier decided to take advantage of the situation and ripped his skis down an icy road:

“Ice, pow, and pavement means New York skiing is back! Free base grind included.”

In the comment section someone chimed in with concern about damaging his new skis ripping down thinly covered pavement, in true east coast skier fashion he responded its “the only correct way to break them in.” Love to see the diehards out there making turns not excuses. Bravo!
